Type and scope of the course:

Seminar, 2 SWS



General information:

The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 24. Seminar papers are to be prepared in teams of two. Team assignments are made by the chair based on topic preferences.



Examination:

Presentation + Seminar paper (6 CP)



Learning outcomes:

After successful completion, students are able to structure a research question, answer it both content-wise and methodologically, elaborate the results in written form, and present them. Critical engagement with the relevant literature deepens the fundamental skills in scientific work.



Content:

In the summer term, we offer a seminar focusing on current developments in retail. Possible subject areas include online retailing, sustainability, pop-up stores, and retail marketing.



Recommended literature:

Literature references will be provided with the topic announcement.

German



Target group:

Students in the Bachelor's programme (especially with a focus on Marketing and E-Business)



Recommended prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of marketing and the basics of scientific work



Requirements:

Participating students should be willing to actively engage with selected problems in retail management theoretically, research, process, and present information. Reading English-language articles is required.
