Prof. Dr. em. Michael Quintel was director of the Center for Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, Emergency and Pain Medicine at the DONAU-ISAR Clinic Deggendorf (DIK) and also had a research position in the “Anesthesiology” department at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG).He was also director of the Clinic for Anesthesiology (after merging Departments 1 and 2 - Operative Intensive Care Medicine) of the Center for Anesthesiology, Rescue and Intensive Care Medicine, Göttingen University Medical Center at the Georg August University of Göttingen.
The focus of Prof. Dr.'s scientific work em. Michael Quintel focused on acute lung failure and ventilation, organ protection and organ replacement, brain-organ interactions and sepsis.
