Marie Bellersen

My name is Marie Bellersen. I did my bachelor in Göttingen and changed than for my master study in animal science to the University of Bonn. Currently I’m a PhD student of the group in animal breeding and genetics. My topic is about genotype x environment interactions in pigs. In the project we’re looking on the influence of a nitrogen and phosphorus reduced feeding in different pig breeds. The goal we want to achieve is to determine basic genetic parameters like heritability, correlations and further investigations like GWAS. In the last years I worked as a coworker in the animal genetic group in Bonn and supported the group in basic lecture and exercises. During my time in Bonn, I also had the opportunity to work in a group investigating stress vocalization in turkey chicks and the effect of a social partner before hatching and in the first weeks living on the vocalization.
