Welcome to the
Albrecht-von-Haller-Institute for Plant Sciences
The institute was named after Albrecht von Haller, a Swiss doctor and scientist who lived in the 18th century and was one of the founding members of the university here in Göttingen. Albrecht von Haller was an important physician of his time and was also the founder of the Old Botanical Garden in Göttingen, which is now part of the institute.
