ARPES of Metal Porphyrins on TMDCs for NRR (C01 – A04)

The nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) is a challenging 6e⁻/6H⁺-PCET reaction. The homogeneous molybdenum porphyrin-catalyzed conversion of dinitrogen to ammonia has been established in project A04. Here, we aim to develop and characterize hybrid materials combining TMDCs with molybdenum porphyrin molecules as electrocatalysts for NRR. ARPES with momentum microscopy will provide direct experimental access to charge transfer dynamics across the valence and conduction band states and between HOMO and LUMO states of these hybrid interfaces.
