Alina Haus

Alina Haus obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Munich in 2021. Enhancing her agricultural horizon, she then moved to Göttingen, where she earned a Master of Science in Agricultural Sciences with a specialization on livestock sciences in 2023.
For her Master's thesis, she spent four months in Mongolia as part of an internship with an international NGO, conducting research on the winter feeding of cashmere goats. Her work with goats continued beyond this experience: In September 2023, she began her doctoral studies as part of the MiZie project, focusing on the optimal feeding of pastured dairy goats in Germany.
Therefore, Ms. Haus serves as a contact person for students interested in theses related to dairy goat nutrition.

Research focus:

  • Assessment of feed intake on pasture
  • Assessment of feed intake on pasture
  • Analysis of metabolic status of dairy goats

Research project:

The MiZie project investigates pasture-based feeding of organically raised dairy goats and the behavior of goat kids. It focuses on goat’s energy requirements and feed intake on pasture. Further studies on commercial farms evaluate the design of feeding troughs, pasture-based ration formulation, and the metabolic health status of dairy goats. Additionally, the project examines how mother-reared lambs acquire social competence and their feeding behavior.
