Prof. Dr. Christian Katzenmeier is head of the Institute for Medical Law at the University of Cologne.Prof. Dr. Christian Katzenmeier is also editor of the magazine “Medizinrecht”, organizer of the “Cologne Medical Law Days”, editor of the “Cologne Writings on Medical Law”, co-editor of the “Heidelberg Commentary on Medical Law-Hospital Law-Medical Law (HK-AKM)”, deputy. Director of the newly founded Cologne Center for Ethics, Rights, Economics, and Social Sciences of Health (ceres) and founding member of the Research Center for Law and Ethics of Digital Transformation at the University of Cologne.
In 2022 he won the Hans Kelsen Research Prize.
His research focuses on medical law, liability law, insurance law and civil procedure law.
