Euroculture Göttingen has the possibility to apply for mobility grants for its home students for the 2nd semester under the Erasmus+ Programme. Those of you who have not received any other funding from the EU, e.g. Erasmus Mundus, are eligible for Erasmus+ funds.
The grant amount varies from year to year and is calculated according to each student's destination country and length of study or work period abroad (please see the document "Übersicht der Erasmus+-Stipendienraten" for the regarding year).
The Erasmus+ grant will be paid in two allocations: the first allocation of the Erasmus+ grant will be 80% of the overall total, the second allocation 20% of the overall total.
You can only receive an Erasmus grant for a maximum of 12 months in each study level (i.e. undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies).
The exchange period must last a minimum of 3 consecutive months. Should your exchange period last longer than 3 months, only 4 months can be covered by the Erasmus+ grant.
In order to apply for the Erasmus mobility funds you need to submit the following documents (forms to be downloaded from the website identified below):
Using the ERASMUS online registration/nomination form, you can formally enroll for the ERASMUS programme of Göttingen University. The Online Registration ("Online-Nominierung") can be found here.
Please note that in order to receive funding, you should have a German bank account and a German residence.
Please note that you need to first register at the website (you cannot use your university log-in and password for the registration) and only after that you can fill in the online form.
Once you have completed the online registration, please print the document out and sign it. Unfortunately the form is only available in German, therefore we would like to kindly ask those of you who do not speak German to take care of the translation yourself (you may want to ask your classmates, German-speaking friends or teachers from the German Departments at the University to help you).
Another document you need to submit is the Certificate of Enrolment.
To get a valid certificate of enrolment you can print it online at the eCampus. At eCampus you have to log in with your username and password and print your certificate.
You will be able to get funding under the condition that the Learning Agreement* is signed:
You complete the learning agreement in consultation with us and respective coordinators at Euroculture partner universities, specifying the agreed courses of study. Fill out the Learning Agreement and get it signed and stamped. Please only fill out the first three pages of the Learning Agreement ("before the mobility").
Should there be any alterations, the revised learning agreement must be completed and signed before the end of the first month following the student's arrival in the host country.
According to new requirements for an Erasmus+ stay abroad you will be asked to undertake two language tests (English): before and after the mobility. You will receive an automatically generated email (noreply@erasmusplusols.eu), so please also check your spam folder to make sure you don't miss anything important. Once you have completed the test, save the result as a PDF file but there is no need to send it to anyone.
Before leaving the University of Göttingen, the student must sign the Grant Agreement (financial contract), which is completed by the International Office at the University of Göttingen, to accept the responsibilities that come with the grant. The Grant Agreement (two copies) will be sent to you upon submission and processing of your application documents. Once filled out, please send back one original copy to Sabine Plünnecke of the International Office (by post).
Once you have arrived at your host university, please get the Certificate of arrival* signed and stamped by the respective Euroculture Coordinator. Please send a copy of your certificate of arrival to Sabine Plünnecke either by post or as a scan by email (contact details below).
Please note that the first payment (80% of the overall total) can only be made upon the submission of all required documents (including the signed Grant Agreement and the Certificate of arrival).
Please don't forget to read the ERASMUS-Charter.*
Please also see ERASMUS Guidelines and Checklists*.
*For the required forms and documents, please always use the newest edition from the following webpage of the International Office at the University of Göttingen that is responsible for the Erasmus mobility: Formulare für die ERASMUS+-Studierendenmobilität.
IMPORTANT!
For students with nationalities other than EU member countries, attention must be paid to the special visa regulations which are in force (the directive 2004/114/EC in EU legislation for stays exceeding 3 months; the Schengen Agreement for stays of up to 3 months). Preservation of the applicant's residence permit in Germany should also be secured by obtaining an advance permit from the Aliens Department for the prolonged stay abroad.
In order to successfully complete your studies within the framework of the Erasmus mobility programme, you have to submit the following documents as soon as possible (within one month after the end of your Erasmus semester):
Certificate of Stay of the Partner University (please note that the certificate must be issued after your stay at the partner University) - please keep the original, a copy should be sent to Sabine Plünnecke.
Erasmus+ Online study report form (you will receive a personalized link to the online form after the end of your mobility) - please save it as a PDF file, but again no need to send it to someone; (please take a look at your spam folder regularly as it is a generated Email)
Experience report - free formulated in text about your personal experiences (please send it as an email attachment to us and to Sabine Plünnecke.
Language test - You will receive an automatically generated email. Once you have completed the test, please save it as a PDF file, but again no need to send it to someone
In case you already have your Transcript of Records, please also send it to us as well.
The last payment of the Mobility Grant (20%) is dependent on students returning all necessary documentation to the University of Göttingen (means all documents from the Checklist should be either available on the platform or send by mail to Göttingen International depending on the kind of document). Failure to do so will delay payment and may even mean forfeit of the Mobility Grant.
IMPORTANT!
Please note that in the Certificate of Stay the exact dates of your studies should be indicated. It should be signed either on the last day of your studies at the Partner University or shortly after you finished your studies (not before that!).
Coordinators of the Euroculture Programme at host Universities will be informed respectively.
Unfortunately the dates of the IP in Olomouc cannot count toward the overall semester duration. The last day of the semester refers to the last day you spent at your host university.
