Diagnosing and fostering professional competencies effectively. This is achieved in high-quality and digitally supported learning and examination settings in vocational schools, workplaces, or universities.



With this in mind, the research group of the chair teaches and conducts research in various interconnected research areas:






  • Digital learning and examination environments (simulations and XR)

  • Competency diagnostics

  • Training quality in vocational education

  • Training dropouts in the context of the dual system

  • University didactics and teacher education

Digital elements are finding their way into business administration teaching – from quiz apps and VR simulations to AI-supported examinations. But what happens when gamification, avatars and ChatGPT take over the lecture hall? Does digitalisation need more didactic foundation – or is pragmatic experience enough? And will AI replace the professor – or will he work with it in the future?
